Faculty of Political Science and International Relations

Faculty of Political Science and International Relations is a young, dynamic division of the university, opened in 2011.
Currently, the faculty implements one professional educational program on a specialty 312.1 „International Relations”. The educational process is based on a multi-level system of higher education, which provides a three-year full-time and four-year part-time education in accordance with the program for a licentiate and a two-year education pursuant to the Master's program.
 
 
Graduates of the licentiate program hold the academic title of Licentiate in Political Science.
Graduates of the Master's program hold the academic title of Masters in Political Science.
An integral feature of the educational process is a multi-disciplinary approach.
 
The curriculum of the faculty includes such blocks of disciplines, as:
• Socio-economic sciences and the humanities' (SSH) (foreign language, the basics of economics, geo-economics, law, etc.). The study of the main foreign language (English and German).
• Pure sciences (informatics and fundamental programming concepts). Methods and technologies of work with the information in the preparation of students are of special attention.
• General professional sciences (the theory of political doctrines, history of political doctrines, negotiations and diplomatic protocol, the theory and practice of communication in international relations, international and regional security etc.) Disciplines of specialization (world politics, theory and history of international relations, regional studies, global studies and etc.).
Field of activity. The curricula of the Faculty are focused on training of professionals and meet the social needs of the Republic of Moldova. An interdisciplinary approach of learning will allow them to carry out their activities in the local authorities, departments dealing with external relations, international organizations and non-governmental institutions as consultants, analysts, experts and speechwriters.
The purpose of the Faculty - modernization within the European University of Moldova of the faculty of Political Science and International Relations, based on the principle of unity of education and research processes, that correspond to the prosperity of the University, state and society.
 
The Department of World Politics and International Relations is a complex educational and scientific center that develops the issues of history, the modern period of development of international relations, security, foreign policy and diplomacy.
In recent years, the department significantly updated the program, and has also developed a number of new courses, both mandatory and electives.
Staff of the chair allows to set and to resolve the scientific, educational and organizational tasks. Staff of the department actively support articles in academic and journalistic publications of the country, give lectures and hold seminars abroad.
 
The development strategy of the department is built in accordance with modern trends and demands of the time and is aimed at a comprehensive training in international affairs in the following areas:

Licentiate direction (I cycle): International relations

 
Masters direction (II cycle): Diplomacy
Education in Master program is carried out by full-time education. Duration of education is 2 years.
